Ericka aka EMOSAH, orator - podcaster - life coach + mentor, was born with a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease. She has been fully dependent on the use of a power wheelchair for a little more than 25 years. Dating back to Ericka being a little girl, she has always been self-sufficient and independent through the teachings of her mother. She never let her disability stand or “sit” in the way of overcoming any obstacle. That is exactly why she became the woman she is today!
When it comes to fulfilling educational goals, Ericka’s accomplishments include graduating in May 2007 with her Associates of Science Degree in Social Work from Georgia Perimeter College in Dunwoody, GA. In August 2011, she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Management degree from the University of Phoenix. Ericka then attended Northcentral University where she graduated with her Masters in Education with a specialization Organizational Leadership in April 2013. She is also a 2012 Georgia Partners in Policymaking graduate. Ericka’s passion in life is helping others succeed, especially the disabled and special needs community, at their individual life and educational goals!
Having Muscular Dystrophy is definitely a life sentence but the great thing is we can make the best of it or we can make the worst of it! Ericka is a living testimony that her positive support system gave her the most positive life and she absolutely has not stopped being positive by showing others that with or without a disability we all have challenges and can make the same decisions in life.
